Is your child having problems learning at school?  Is your child at grade level? What are your rights?  Did you know that an IEP team meeting is required for your child?  Most special needs parents are told “no” when parents ask for educational resources for their children at IEP team meetings.  One parent in 200 gets an attorney or advocate and enforces their child’s rights.  The school district only has to give an assertive parent what their child was entitled to receive in the first place.  Accordingly, school districts have little downside risk of saying “no” to parents. 


Lawyers usually charge between $300 and $600 per hour and often charge a retainer of $3,000 to $6,000 and $25,000 to go to due process.  At Health, Education & Safety we are experienced in educational advocacy services and understand the financial restraints of parents of children with learning and behavioral disabilities.  Our advocacy services are 1/6 – 1/10 of the average attorney cost in this area.  As parents, when we see children challenged at school, we should not be met with resistance, jargon, and barricades.  Breaking down those barriers should not be a parent’s responsibility, but school districts can be difficult to navigate.  Having provided advocacy for all school districts in Beaver County and in other counties, we understand the system, we know the language, and we can help facilitate the conversations necessary to achieve positive outcomes for your child.
